Referral

I do not require a referral for you to book an appointment with me. Some health plans, however, require a doctor’s note recommending therapy in order to provide coverage.

Payment

Payment is required at the time of the appointment and can be made by credit card or e-transfer. Receipts will be provided for you to forward to your health plan provider. Services of a social worker qualify for the Medical Expense Tax Credit.

The regular hourly fee may be charged for appointments not cancelled with at least 24 hours notice.

Insurance

Social workers in private practice charge an hourly fee for their services, which is not covered by OHIP but may be covered under a private health plan or employee group benefits plan.

Many group plans already cover the services of a social worker. Please check carefully to ensure that social work services are covered by your health plan.

Confidentiality

Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount. Social workers are bound by a code of ethics and must keep the information you share strictly confidential. I will only share information if I have your written consent, unless required to do so by law. We will discuss confidentiality in more detail at your first appointment.

Location

I’m based in Ottawa, Ontario and can provide therapy to adults residing in Ontario. At this time, I am only offering appointments by secure online video conference or by phone.
